David Ramsay Owner/Funeral Director/ Manager

Mr. David S. Ramsay holds a Certificate of Completion in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University in 1972, as well as an Associates of Applied Science from Delta College. He has been proudly serving families in the funeral industry for over 51 years, through experience he learned at a young age that this was his calling dedicating his life to helping others with the loss of their loved ones. He is the owner of Lee Ramsay Funeral Home-Pinconning, Lee Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish, Rivertown Funeral Home in Kawkawlin, and Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel. Dave has a very driven commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities he serves. Such as continuing to hold the position as the Pinconning/Fraser Fire Department Fire Chief and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Pinconning/Fraser Fire Department. He also volunteers his time as an EMT for Northern Bay Ambulance and is a member of the Pinconning Good Fellows and Bay County Fire Chiefs Association. As well as serving on several boards and committees throughout the years, for the City of Pinconning. He is a proud husband, father and grandfather.

Louanna M. VanOchten Funeral Director/Licensed Preneed Specialist/Office Manager

She has been employed at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home for over 20 years, serving her apprenticeship under David Ramsay. Assisting families needing the services of the funeral home is not just a job to Lou, it is her passion. Over the years, the staff at the funeral home have become a family to her, being much more that co-workers. During 2012, Lou advanced her career by obtaining her pre-need state license which would allow her to write pre-need contracts on behalf of the Lee-Ramsay funeral establishments so that the business could expand. Also, after completing her studies at Delta College, she enrolled in the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science On-Line accelerated program to gain her Mortuary Science License. She graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science program in June of 2018 and has recently completed her National Boards in the Arts and Sciences and completed her State examination. She is now recognized by both Federal and State regulatory agencies as a holder of a Mortuary Science License, which allows her to carry on the family tradition of the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home service, with care and compassion. She feels her biggest accomplishment in life is her dedication to her husband, children and grandchildren and her commitment to serving families within the communities we serve.

Benjamin Ramsay Funeral Assistant/ Apprentice/Office Manager

Benjamin J. Ramsay, son of Dave has been proudly serving families for over 23 years, he is a Graduate of Worsham’s Mortuary Science Program, serving as an apprentice in Mortuary Science. Ben has a passion for the fire department he serves as a Captain of the Pinconning/Fraser Fire Department and is Certified in Medical First Responder and Certified in Fire 1 & 2. Ben is extremely active in his community as well as an outstanding husband and father.

Robert Hall Funeral Assistant

Robert “Bob” Hall, has been employed with the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home for over 15 years, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Bob retired from General Motors from the Heat Treat Department after 35 years. Bob is a devoted husband and grandfather he is also very active in his community, he served as the former Mayor of Pinconning. He is willing to help anyone in need and enjoys serving families in the funeral industry.

Penny Drouse Office Assistant

Penny Drouse, joined our team 2 years ago as an office assistant as well as serving families with a smile on her face. A lifelong resident of the Linwood/Pinconning Area. She has 30 years of previous experience in the banking industry. Penny is very active in her community if there is a race or a walk for a charity or a fundraiser, she will be their participating and helping. She was drawn to the funeral industry several years ago when she had first experienced death in her family. She has become a great attribute to our community and the funeral home industry.

David Beauchamp, joined the funeral home staff 5 years ago, when he retired from Bay Medical Center/McLaren after 32 years of service. He has a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He likes to keep active and loves to be a social butterfly. He too is a great attribute to the funeral homes in assisting families during visitations and funerals.

Troy Ballor Funeral Assistant

Troy Ballor, has been working at the funeral homes over 10 years. He retired from the Bay County Road Commission after 30 years of service. Troy has a great compassion and dedication to the families we serve as well as his wife and children whom he is very proud of. He assists in numerous activities such as visitations, funerals, removals and serving families. Troy is a friendly smile to greet you at the door which will lead to either a lengthy conversation or just a friendly greeting.

Jim Beutel Funeral Assistant

Jim has been employed at the funeral homes for over 16 years. He retired from United Parcel Service after 30 years of service. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He and his wife have been Lifetime member’s at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pinconning. Jim enjoyed being in nature and hunting with his wife. They enjoy camping and spending time with their five grandchildren. Jim assists on funerals and works visitations, he will greet you at the door with a friendly smile and help wherever he is needed.

Tony joined the Ramsay Group family about four years ago and continues to help on a part-time basis. He and his wife Lisa, along with their four children, have lived in the Gladwin area for nineteen years where he has served as Minister for the Gladwin Church of Christ. Tony is a graduate of Michigan Christian College (now Rochester University) and Harding University Graduate School of Religion (now Harding School of Theology). Tony is a blessing to have as part of our team he plays a significant role assisting families in their time of need.
